Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a Staff Assistant at Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mount Sterling, IL. The role supports behavioral health units by performing clerical tasks, drafting correspondence, scheduling, filing, and providing information to callers using MS Office.

Shifts include two 8-hour periods per month (8a-4p) with one holiday/weekend per quarter. PRN pay is $22.36/hr plus a $4/hr differential, and CPR certification plus security clearance ability are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of secretarial or office experience required.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Good communication and organizational skills, professional phone etiquette and accurate typing skills.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and database programs preferred.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, including drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Draft correspondence, schedule appointments, organize and maintain paper and electronic files.
• Create spreadsheets and provide information to callers for designated behavioral health units.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Access for daily administrative tasks.
