Job summary

MN Care Services seeks a Behavior Technician to provide compassionate, specialized services in home settings for individuals with complex behavioral, developmental, and/or mental health needs. The role operates in 1:1 or 2:1 staffing according to care plans, with minor and adult participants.

Shifts include morning and afternoon rotations totaling hours every two weeks; the BT will follow care plans, document accurately, and support daily living activities while upholding confidentiality and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3+ years in behavioral, residential, or mental health settings.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass MN DHS background study with fingerprinting.
• Ability to complete and demonstrate competency in required 245D training.
• Experience in 245D or HCBS settings preferred.
• Hands-on experience implementing behavior support plans (BSPs/BIPs).
• Experience with structured data collection and documentation.
• Familiarity with person-centered and trauma-informed approaches.

Responsibilities

• Follow the person’s care plan and complete timely, accurate documentation.
• Collect accurate data to drive positive behaviors.
• Assist with activities such as meal planning, grocery shopping, housekeeping, cooking, and self-care.
• Advocate for, support, and empower individuals with skill training.
• Support decision-making and daily living goals with the person.
• Transport individuals to destinations using company vehicle.
• Coach individuals during escalations in behavior or mood.
• Maintain positive relationships with teammates and care teams.
• Adhere to HIPAA and protect confidentiality.
• Handle cross-functional duties as needed.
