Job summary

MN Care Services in Minnesota is seeking a part-time Behavior Technician to provide compassionate support to individuals with complex behavioral, developmental, and/or mental health needs in 1:1 or 2:1 settings. Morning and afternoon shifts totaling 14 hours every two weeks are available.

Role involves implementing care plans, data collection, skill-building, community transportation, and crisis de-escalation with a focus on person-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years of related experience in behavioral, residential, or mental health settings

Responsibilities

• Follow the person's care plan and complete documentation such as shift notes or medication administration reports
• Collect accurate data to drive positive behaviors as part of the person's care plan
• Provide problem-solving support with activities such as meal planning, grocery shopping, housekeeping duties, cooking, organizational skills, financial management, and self-care
• Advocate for, support, and empower individuals served by providing general skill training
• Support development of decision-making skills and informed choices in all aspects of daily living
• Support individuals’ desires to be involved in their community by transporting them to their intended destinations via company vehicle
• Coach individuals through escalations in behavior or mood, or emergency situations
• Maintain positive working relationships with teammates, Designated Coordinator, other MN Care Services staff, people served, and their families/care team
• Adhere to the Vulnerable Adult and Child Abuse and Neglect Policies, HIPAA privacy policies and maintain confidentiality
• Other cross-functional duties in or out of position scope, as necessary
