Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Behavior Technician to help children and/or adults build skills for greater independence, communication, and connection. You’ll provide one-on-one support in home-based or community-based settings and work with Board Certified Behavior Analysts to follow behavior-change plans.

You’ll collect progress data, create engaging sessions, and help families address challenging behaviors while advancing your own behavioral-health skills and career.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Completed college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, or human development; or at least one year of experience working with children as described in the posting.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with children and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar developmental delays and behavioral health challenges.
  • Help individuals build social and communication skills.
  • Support families by addressing repetitive or restrictive behaviors.
  • Follow behavior-change plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
  • Collect and document progress, milestones, and session information accurately.
  • Create encouraging, structured interactions during every session.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring


  • Passion for working with individuals with special needs

  • Strong communication skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Either:


    • Completed college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, or human development; or

    • At least one year of experience working with children as a Child Development professional, Camp Counselor, Paraprofessional, Behavioral Interventionist, ABA Therapist, or Behavior Technician
