Job summary

The Racine Unified School District seeks a Behavior Support Specialist to provide behavioral leadership across the district, merging Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions with proactive building safety monitoring to enhance school climate.

The role builds constructive relationships with students and staff, implements evidence-based behavior support plans, and maintains building security protocols to ensure academic success and physical safety for all occupants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with youth in a supportive or supervisory capacity.
• Preferred CPR and/or AED training; experience with diverse student populations is valued.
• District-provided CSTAG, NVCI, ALICE, EVOLV, Restorative Practices, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Trauma-Sensitive Schools training are required or pursued.

Responsibilities

• Tier 2 & 3 behavioral interventions and PBIS fidelity support across building environments.
• Monitor and support building safety and security protocols and incidents.
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation during high-stress situations.
• Coordinate with administration and emergency teams; document incidents accurately.
• Align daily practices with district goals and participate in professional learning.
