Job summary

Grand Rapids Public Schools is seeking a Behavior Specialist to support attendance, promote a safe school environment, and empower scholars to make proper choices. The full-time, school-year role focuses on providing intervention for scholars needing extra support to continue their education.

You will collaborate with scholars, families, teachers, the MTSS team and administrators to assess interventions, monitor outcomes, and maintain engaged learning experiences that drive school success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Experience working with at-risk scholars and families.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of MTSS and ability to apply it in a school setting.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience training adults.

Responsibilities

• Assist with enrollment and attendance-related concerns.
• Collaborate with scholars, families, teachers, specialists, and principals to plan interventions.
• Monitor attendance data and interventions and adjust as needed.
• Support creating a safe and orderly school environment.
• Maintain dependable attendance and participate in training.
