Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Experience with students who have significant behavioral needs.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.
• Ability to adapt curriculum for special needs and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement behavior intervention systems grounded in FBAs and BIPs.
• Collect and analyze behavioral and academic data to inform instruction.
• Develop lessons aligned to IEP goals integrating behavioral, social-emotional, and academic skills.
• Use evidence-based instructional strategies including explicit instruction and reinforcement systems.
• Differentiate instruction based on student needs and readiness.
• Collaborate with ARD members to develop and review IEPs with measurable goals.
• Provide direct, specialized instruction prioritizing regulation and engagement.
• Support general education teachers with strategies and guidance for behavior supports.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data.
• Plan for smooth transitions to less restrictive environments and monitor progress.
