Job summary

Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Provide training and ongoing support to teachers, staff, and parents in the implementation of positive behavior supports and restorative practices to effectively address challenging student behaviors. Collaborate with educators to design and implement behavior intervention plans that promote positive behavior and support student success.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

Bachelor's degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments Certified as a school counselor in the state of Texas, or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or licensed and a Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology or other related area preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge of the unique needs of students with disabilities, including pervasive developmental disabilities, and child/adolescent psycho-social development and mental health conditions

Knowledge of the ARD process and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, implementation, and progress monitoring, as well as RTI-B, Section 504, and IDEA-B requirements

Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies, social skills instruction, restorative practices, and evidence-based methodologies

Skill in collaborating with educators, staff, and families and in delivering effective professional development and training for adult learners

Skill in analyzing and interpreting behavioral and academic data and using technology systems to support intervention and progress monitoring

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification or ability to obtain Knowledge of community resources and support services for students and families

Experience

Two years experience implementing behavior management strategies in public school environment Three years experience as a special education teacher

Salary: $55,000 to $67,000 Per Year
