Job summary

Bridgeport ISD in Bridgeport, TX seeks a 26-27 Behavioral Specialist to provide support for teachers, staff, and parents in managing challenging behaviors. Exempt position with 197-day contract; starting immediately.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing BIPs, conducting FBAs, participating in ARD/IEP meetings, and delivering staff training. Requires a Bachelor's in education and TX teaching cert with SPED endorsements; RBT/BCBA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements preferred.
• Registered Behavior Technician or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst preferred.
• Knowledge of ARD Committee process and IEP goal setting and implementation.
• Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodology.
• Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with administrators and teachers to design and develop research based behavioral intervention plans (BIP).
• Monitor the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans and recommend changes as needed.
• Conduct functional behavioral assessment (FBA) based on observation of students in school, home, and community environments.
• Work with school staff and parents in teaching socially acceptable behaviors to students based on individual needs.
• Participate in ARD committee meetings and coordinate with parents, teachers, and staff to meet IEP goals.
• Manage student behavior and administer discipline including crisis intervention per IEP.
• Assist teachers with lesson planning, modeling, and classroom management.
• Develop and maintain behavioral management techniques for individuals or groups.
• Provide individual and small group activities to improve interpersonal relationships and social skills.
• Participate in RtI and EIT meetings to address academic and behavioral issues.
• Conference with parents, administrators, and teachers on school and student issues.
