Princeton Independent School District in Princeton, Texas is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support teachers, staff, and parents in addressing challenging behaviors and implementing IEP goals. The role emphasizes collaboration with the Director of Special Programs and special education staff to design and deliver effective behavioral plans.

The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, and experience with ARD/IEP processes, BIPs, and adult training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Master’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Certified as a school counselor in Texas, or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of supporting students in self-contained and inclusion services.
• Knowledge of ARD/IEP goal-setting and implementation.
• Knowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques.
• Ability to work with students with pervasive developmental disabilities.
• Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Three (3) years of experience as a special education teacher, social work, or related field.
• Experience implementing academic instruction/strategies and behavior management.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with administrators and teachers to design and implement BIPs and support staff.
• Monitor effectiveness of behavior intervention plans and recommend changes.
• Conduct FBA and collaborate with staff/parents to teach appropriate behaviors.
• Participate in ARD meetings to meet IEP goals.
• Assist teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior strategy.
• Develop and maintain techniques for academic and behavioral interventions.
• Provide individual and small group activities to improve social skills.
• Consult with district and outside resources on student needs.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain required records.
