Job summary

San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) is hiring an itinerant BIS paraeducator to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a teacher/administrator. This role focuses on direct behavioral support, data collection, and teamwork with Behavior Analysts to implement IEP-aligned interventions.

The position is part-time (0.75 FTE) with an hourly salary of $31.52–$36.87. The role emphasizes safety, PBIS, and collaboration across school settings and staff.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or higher OR 48 college units and a High School Diploma OR passing of CBEST and a high school diploma OR passing of the instructional aide exam and high school diploma
• One (1) year of successful experience working with students who have significant social-emotional and/or behavioral needs, i.e. direct student care or as an instructional aide working in a public school, nonpublic school or nonpublic agency setting

Responsibilities

• Provide BIS to students individually and/or in small groups as outlined in a student’s IEP
• Implement BIS-related plans and PBIS aligned to student IEP goals
• Support social-emotional and behavioral development through direct interventions
• Collect, document, and report data on student behavior and progress toward IEP goals
• Utilize SFUSD data systems to review IEPs and report services
• Follow protocols for de-escalation, crisis response, and safety
