Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) is seeking a Behavior Technician to support students with behavioral and academic needs at River Street School in Windsor. The role emphasizes creating a positive learning environment and working under certified staff guidance to help students succeed.

Responsibilities include implementing behavioral plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with teachers, counselors, and staff. Ongoing training and compliance with CREC policies are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with behavior using BIPs under certified staff guidance.
• Observe and document student behaviors and provide data to the intervention team.
• Use de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm classroom environment.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to provide behavioral guidance.
• Support academic subjects as directed by teachers or intervention staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure consistent student support.
• Monitor student progress on academic tasks and report to teachers.
• Maintain accurate records of behavioral and academic progress.
• Participate in ongoing training related to behavior management and tutoring.
• Complete annual crisis management training and comply with policies.
