Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years’ experience working with children with disabilities
• First Aid/CPR certification issued by an authorized agency
• District Paraprofessional Proficiency Exam certification required by the State of California

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by reinforcing instruction to whole class, small groups or individuals
• Assist students with adaptive equipment and daily living activities
• Administer first aid and monitor student safety
• Maintain records and collect data on student performance and behavior
• Implement behavior management techniques during crises and assist with restraints when trained
• Maintain clean, safe learning spaces and supervise during structured times
• Communicate progress and needs to teachers and staff while maintaining confidentiality
• Assist with bus loading/unloading
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Perform related duties as assigned
