Job summary

CARLTON HILLS SCHOOL in Santee, CA is hiring a Paraeducator – Behavior Intervention. You will support certificated staff with behavior and academic interventions, record data, supervise students, and assist with daily living activities as needed.

Starting immediately, 9 months/6.0 hours daily, 7:40 am-2:10 pm. Must hold First Aid/CPR and complete required district certifications. Salary is $19.94 per hour, full-time.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years’ experience working with children with disabilities.
• Possession of a First Aid/CPR Certificate.
• District Paraprofessional Proficiency Exam certification via one of three paths.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by reinforcing instruction to class, small groups, or individuals.
• Assist students with adaptive equipment and daily living activities.
• Administer first aid and monitor medical needs of students.
• Maintain records and collect data on student performance and behavior.
• Assist in behavior management and safe restraint during emergencies as trained.
• Keep learning spaces clean, safe and organized.
• Supervise students during structured and unstructured times.
• Communicate progress and needs with teachers and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Assist with bus boarding and departures.
• Carry out written and verbal instructions.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
