Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years’ experience or transferable skills.
• AA degree or 48 college units required, district proficiency preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification and Paraprofessional proficiency testing required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers by reinforcing instruction to whole class, small groups and/or individual students.
• Verbal and physical assistance with adaptive equipment and activities of daily living.
• Administer first aid and monitor medical needs of students.
• Maintain records and collect data on student performance and behavior.
• Use behavior management strategies and assist during behavior emergencies.
• Assist in keeping learning spaces neat, safe and supervised.
• Supervise during lunch and recess and communicate student progress to staff.
• Assist with bus boarding/departure and follow written instructions.
