Job summary

Springfield Public Schools seeks a qualified behavioral specialist/coach to support Pupil Services in shaping effective behavior management and PBIS district-wide. Qualifications

  • Master's degree required.
  • Appropriate educator license (e.g., Teacher of Students with M/SE Disabilities, Guidance and School Adjustment, or BCBA).
  • Knowledge of PBIS preferred and applicable to district implementation.
  • Experience providing social-emotional-behavioral support for students with challenges.
  • Minimum 5 years in a pre-K–12 setting; 3+ years in an urban environment.

Responsibilities

  • Works under the directions of the Bureau of Pupil Services in collaboration with special education supervisors.
  • Provides technical assistance and coaching in effective behavior management and PBIS implementation.
  • Designs and helps to implement programs to promote pro-social behavior based on analysis of behavior variables.
  • Consults with staff to modify instructional programs based on systematic observation data.
  • Develops and implements intervention strategies to support teachers in behavioral plans.
  • Assists in developing social/emotional/behavioral curriculum for special education students in compliance with MA standards.
