Job summary

Our Eagle Y Kids, part of the Treasure Valley Family YMCA, seeks a Before School Teacher to promote child development and support families. The role requires creating a safe learning environment, collaborating with a teaching team, and delivering the established curriculum.

The position averages 10 hours weekly with 7:00am–9:00am sessions, Monday to Friday. Pay ranges from $15.45 to $19.31 per hour, with necessary Idaho certifications and CPR/First Aid prerequisites upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Minimum 1 year working with children preferred.
• Ability to engage others and make all people feel welcome.
• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety situations.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; be respectful and articulate.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that is safe through active supervision and role modeling safe behavior.
• Nurture children through programs that build relationships, achievement, and belonging.
• Maintain daily communication with participants and parents using the Y voice attributes.
• Implement the established curriculum to achieve the five Cause Measurement goals.
• Use positive behavior guidance to support each child’s development and behavior.
