YMCA of Greater Erie is hiring a Part-Time School Age Before / After School Teacher for our childcare program in Erie, PA. If you are creative, energetic, and love helping children learn, this role may be for you.

You will support the program director, assist with enrollment, implement lessons, keep records, and participate in family events. Weekend-free schedule and flexible benefits are offered with competitive wages.

Qualifikationen

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in Secondary Education or 2500 hours of documented experience.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to pass a physical.
• Negative TB test.
• Must enroll in a CDA training program within the first year of employment if not already attending or having completed secondary education.
• Love for children.

Aufgaben

• Assist the child care program director to ensure a positive and enriching experience for all children.
• Provide proper supervision and discipline as you see, hear, direct, and assess.
• Act as a role model for the children at all times.
• Assist with enrollment of new children and facilitate onboarding of each child and their parents into the Y Program.
• Communicate with parents on a daily basis to maintain a good rapport.
• Help implement lesson plans based on child development principles and keep the classroom clean and in order.
• Keep classroom records up to date and ensure compliance with YMCA standards and government regulations.
• Attend and participate in all family events and program activities.
