Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a Before and After School Leader to assist the program director in planning and implementing the child care program and to promote strong community relations among families and staff.

Based in Aurora, CO, the role follows Colorado licensing requirements, supervises students daily, maintains safety, and works with parents, school staff and district colleagues to deliver high-quality activities and programming.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• Must be age 18 or over.
• At least three months (455 hours) of verified care and supervision of four or more children.
• One of: three months childcare experience or current early childhood credential level I+ in version 3.0.
• Each year, June 1 through May 31, complete at least 15 clock hours of training.
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare.
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures.
• Some leadership and management skill.
• Ability to make appropriate decisions and to solve problems effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements on a daily basis.
• Directly supervises and engages with students during program times.
• Communicates effectively with parents, students, staff and district
• Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
• Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days.
• Participates in required professional development trainings.
• Assists in implementing quality lesson plans.
• Assists with maintenance and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities and program quality.
• Creates and implements activities and field trips for full day programming.
• Attends monthly program staff meetings.
