Job summary

Cherry Creek School District seeks a Before and After School Leader to assist the program director in planning and implementing the child care program. The role involves developing positive community relations, promoting quality programming, and assisting with daily operations and staff coordination.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• The Before and After School Leader must be age 18 or over
• Must have at least three months (455 hours) of verified experience in care and supervision of four or more children over 4 years old, or a valid Early Childhood Credential Level I
• Each year, June 1 through May 31, the leader must complete at least 15 clock hours of training
• Knowledge of most aspects of childcare
• Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures
• Some leadership and management skill
• Ability to make appropriate decisions and to solve problems effectively
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days

Responsibilities

• Follows and enforces all Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements.
• Works directly and actively supervises and engages with students during times they are present in the program.
• Exhibits excellent communication with parents, students, school staff, district staff and co-workers.
• Maintains safe conditions for all students and staff.
• Promotes and markets the program for before and after care and full days.
• Attend and participate in professional development trainings as required by licensing and district.
• Assists to implement quality lesson plans for every day the program is in operation.
• Assists with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities, projects and program quality.
• Creates and implements activities and field trips for full day programming.
• Attend monthly program staff meetings as required by director.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
