Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking a part-time or full-time assistant for the school-based child care program. The role involves active supervision of students under a qualified leader, maintaining safety, and promoting positive community relations with families and staff.

Qualified applicants will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be at least 16 years old, and hold current First Aid and CPR certification or obtain within 30 days.

Qualifications

• The assistant must be at least 16 years of age.
• Assistants must work directly under the supervision of the director, assistant director or leader.
• Each year of employment, the assistant must complete at least 15 clock hours of training.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days.
• The assistant must demonstrate an ability to work with school age children.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs active supervision of students in the school-based child care program under supervision.
• Follows procedures as stated in the ECS Procedures Manual.
• Participates and plays with students in structured and unstructured activities.
• Maintains safe conditions for students and staff.
• Follows program policies and district guidelines for discipline and use of facilities.
• Assists with maintenance, storage, and repair of equipment and supplies.
• Contributes ideas for enrichment activities and program quality.
• Communicates effectively with parents, students, staff and coworkers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
