Job summary

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Market Development Representative to grow sales and market share by expanding distribution and executing promotions in key on- and off-premise accounts.

The role focuses 90% on retail execution and requires close collaboration with wholesale partners. You will call on existing accounts, pursue new opportunities, ensure proper merchandising, and coordinate events to raise brand awareness.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent education/experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 2 years B2B sales experience preferred.
• Alcohol beverage industry sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws.
• Ability to meet business plan goals in volume, distribution, profitability.
• Strong organization and time management.

Responsibilities

• Call on existing account base within area to obtain new distribution, execute promotional activity and increase market share.
• Identify and solicit new business and retail opportunities to increase volume, distribution, and share within the assigned area.
• Ensure proper merchandising of product and point-of-sale materials within area and according to our brand standards.
• Conduct staff educations, beer tastings and other events as needed.
• On- and Off-Premise: securing displays, ensuring beer placement, closing gaps, checking quality and POS support.
• Provide exceptional service to assigned accounts with the goal of becoming their preferred supplier.
• Operate effectively within the brewery and budgetary guidelines.
• Compile and submit reports on assigned area and general market information to management team and wholesaler.
• Coordinate events and promotions to deliver greater brand awareness and stimulate sales.
• Execute monthly National Account opportunities.
