Job summary

Gibbon Packing, LLC an American Foods Group Company is seeking a dedicated team member for carcass and carcass part sorting. You will identify abnormalities before inspection, separating normal from abnormal beef components such as heads and viscera, while adhering to food-safety standards.

The role requires working in USDA-regulated environments, completing Beef Modernization and basic knife handling training, and contributing to QA activities.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and quality.
• Must complete Beef Modernization training and basic knife handling (straight knife, steel, hook).

Responsibilities

• Observe, palpate, and incise carcass parts to identify abnormalities.
• Perform preparation and presentation activities for inspection.
• Follow FSIS regulations and company procedures for heads, tongues, viscera, and carcass.
• Notify supervisor if a disease or abnormal carcass is suspected during sorting.
• Attend hire training and annual refresher training as needed.
• Willing to train and educate others on processes and quality standards.
• Capable of performing the QA sorter responsibilities.
• Note: employee may perform other related duties as needed.
