Job summary

America's Heartland Packing seeks a detail-oriented worker to sort carcasses and parts, identifying abnormalities before inspection. The role focuses on separating normal from abnormal carcasses, heads, and viscera while adhering to FSIS rules and internal procedures.

Training on Beef Modernization and knife skills is required, with opportunities to educate others and participate in ongoing safety programs in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and quality.
• Be willing to complete Beef Modernization training and knife/steel/hook courses.

Responsibilities

• Observe, palpate, and incise carcass and carcass parts to determine abnormalities.
• Perform preparation (e.g., cuts) and presentation activities.
• Follow FSIS regulations and company procedures for heads, tongues, viscera, and carcass.
• Notify when suspect animal or carcass may be disease-related during sorting.
• Attend hire training and annual refresher training as needed.
• Willing to train and educate others.
• Additional duties as needed.
