Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking Bench Department Manager for the meat department to drive sales and maintain standards across stores in the Indian Land and Waxhaw areas.

The role requires leadership of staff, training and development, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards, with focus on guest service and budgeting goals. Training is provided; location-based responsibilities include scheduling and merchandising execution.

Qualifications

• High school education required with progressive supermarket experience.
• Must be 18 years old and able to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of meat operations and supervision of staff.
• Ability to train and develop department personnel.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective selling skills and calendar-driven pricing awareness.
• Ability to bend, kneel, stand and push/pull stock carts for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Ensure polite, friendly service from meat department; may assist on front end.
• Achieve budgeted financial results for the department.
• Prepare product for sale following Lowes Foods standards.
• Implement in-store selling culture and manage inventory, pricing, and in-stock conditions.
• Schedule the department and ensure compliance with company policies and ALI audits.
• Coach direct reports; conduct performance reviews and development plans.
• Teach and train staff; build a talent bench and promotable pipeline.
• Maintain sanitation and safe food handling practices; run coolers/freezers to standard.
