Job summary

VCNY Home is seeking a Designer to create fashion bedding designs from concept to finished product for a range of retailers. The role collaborates closely with Sales, Merchandising and Production teams, translating the product vision into bedding, duvet covers, quilts and decorative pillows.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in textile design for home furnishings or fashion, and are proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Ned Graphics, and familiar with AI tools for renderings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Textile Design, Surface Pattern Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
• 5+ years of Textile Design experience in home furnishings or fashion/apparel.
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and Ned Graphics.
• Experience using AI tools to generate renderings and design mock-ups.
• Experience with product development and production processes.
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent color and design sense.
• Experience using a PLM system.

Responsibilities

• Create unique and original designs for wovens, embroideries, and prints aligned with brand aesthetics.
• Translate product vision into bed/bedding designs including duvet covers, quilts, pillows and throws.
• Maintain understanding of fabrics, construction, and techniques.
• Render complete bed looks using Adobe Creative Suite and AI tools.
• Follow development calendars to meet timelines and obtain approvals.
• Collaborate with Sales, Merchandising, and Production teams.

VCNY Home is a forward-thinking home textiles supplier offering modern designs for every lifestyle and budget; we specialize in bedding, bath, window treatments, area rugs, home décor and table linens. The Designer is responsible for the creative design of Fashion Bedding products for a variety of retailers ranging from Mass Market to Fashion Market. The Designer works from concept to finished product while working with our design support teams.

The position works very closely with our Sales, Merchandising and Production teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create unique and original designs for wovens, embroideries, and prints consistent with our brand aesthetic and company values.
• Help to translate our product vision into designs for bedding, duvet covers, quilts, blankets, decorative pillows and throw blankets.
• Maintain an understanding of fabrications, construction, and techniques.
• Render complete bed looks using Adobe Creative Suite and generative AI tools, such as Gemini.
• Follow the development calendar to meet timelines and work through product approvals.
• Experience in and understanding product development and production process.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to help with any product design-related projects.
• Exposure to or experience using a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system preferred.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Textile Design, Surface Pattern Design, Fashion Design, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Textile Design in home furnishings or fashion/apparel
