Job summary

VCNY Home is seeking a Bedding Designer (Textile) to create unique bedding designs from concept to finished product. You will work closely with Sales, Merchandising and Production to translate vision into duvet covers, quilts and decorative pieces.

The role requires onsite work four days a week in North Bergen, NJ, with strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Ned Graphics, and familiarity with PLM systems. A bias toward collaboration and timely delivery is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Textile Design or related field.
• 5+ years of textile design experience in home furnishings or fashion.
• Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator and Ned Graphics.
• Experience using AI tools to aid in renderings and design mock-ups.
• Familiarity with product development and production processes.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The Designer is responsible for the creative design of Fashion Bedding products for a variety of retailers ranging from Mass Market to Fashion Market. The Designer works from concept to finished product while working with our design support teams. The position works very closely with our Sales, Merchandising and Production teams.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create unique and original designs for wovens, embroideries, and prints consistent with our brand aesthetic and company values.
• Help to translate our product vision into designs for bedding, duvet covers, quilts, blankets, decorative pillows and throw blankets.
• Maintain an understanding of fabrications, construction, and techniques.
• Render complete bed looks using Adobe Creative Suite and generative AI tools, such as Gemini.
• Follow the development calendar to meet timelines and work through product approvals.
• Experience in and understanding product development and production process.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to help with any product design-related projects.
• Exposure to or experience using a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system preferred.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Textile Design, Surface Pattern Design, Fashion Design, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Textile Design in home furnishings or fashion/apparel
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and Ned Graphics
• Work experience in using AI tools to aid in generating renderings and design mock-ups.
• Experience in and understanding product development and production process.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to help with any product design-related projects.
• Experience using a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Must manage multiple projects at once.
