Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is seeking a Bed Placement Coordinator in Virginia Beach area to promote patient throughput and optimize bed capacity. You will use the EMR to assign beds and adjust accommodation codes, and you should be willing to learn additional computer skills related to healthcare delivery.

The role requires coordinating with nursing leadership, participating in rounds, and communicating with multiple departments to ensure timely admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Qualifications

• Basic medical terminology knowledge required.
• Familiarity with hospital processes and patient placement.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assign patient beds and update accommodation status in EMR.
• Perform rounds to identify bed capacity and throughput issues.
• Coordinate patient throughput with Clinical Nursing Supervisor and leadership.
• Communicate effectively with nursing, registration, and other departments.
• Attend hospital orientations and meetings; support flexible scheduling.
