Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is seeking a Bed Placement Coordinator in Virginia Beach area to promote patient throughput and optimize bed capacity. You will use the EMR to assign beds and adjust accommodation codes, and you should be willing to learn additional computer skills related to healthcare delivery.
The role requires coordinating with nursing leadership, participating in rounds, and communicating with multiple departments to ensure timely admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Bed Placement Coordinator is responsible and accountable for promoting organizational patient throughout and assisting with optimization of bed capacity. This role will collaborate with nursing and ancillary services to ensure timely admissions, transfers, and discharges. The electronic medical record (EMR) will be utilized to assign patient beds and change accommodation codes accordingly. Must be able to use a computer and be willing to learn additional computer skills as they relate to healthcare delivery.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have basic medical terminology and computer skills.
Minimum one year hospital experience as a medical secretary or in a role that facilitates acute care patient placement.
