Job summary

Eisenhower Medical Center is seeking an experienced Transfer Center RN/Coordinator to manage patient flow and bed assignments across the hospital, including coordination of transfers from ED, OR, and other units. This role emphasizes Interqual-based determinations and collaboration with physicians, families, and care teams.

Requirements include a California RN license, a bachelor’s degree in nursing (or progress toward RN-Bachelor/Master), and at least 3 years of direct patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Nursing, or RN-Bachelor/RN-Master in progress within 1 year of hire and completed within 5 years.
• California RN license required.
• 3+ years RN direct patient care experience.
• Knowledge of Interqual criteria and payer requirements/notices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with physicians and teams.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate compliance with Code of Conduct and policies.
• Coordinate bed assignments and transfer requests with departments.
• Communicate bed availability and patient flow to coordinators and ED staff.
• Triages transfer requests and verifies documentation and care level.
• Maintain transfer documentation and SBAR reports; ensure timely admissions.
