Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, ID is seeking a Full-Time Bed Control Nurse to coordinate admissions and transfers across the medical center, ensuring admission to the most appropriate bed. Three 12-hour shifts, 1p–1a, with four days off weekly.

Requirements include an active RN license (multi-state with Idaho residency within 60 days; Oregon license within 90 days), at least two years of RN experience in acute/critical care or MS, and BLS; ACLS/PALS may be accepted in place of BLS.

Qualifications

• RN license required; multi-state licenses must establish residency within 60 days from hire.
• Oregon RN license required or in process within 90 days of hire.
• Acute care, critical care, or medical-surgical experience required.
• BSN strongly preferred; minimum two years RN experience.
• Basic Life Support certification required; ACLS/PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bed placement for all admissions and transfers.
• Communicate with physicians for outside consults and coordinate inter-facility transfers.
• Contact physicians promptly and facilitate timely admissions to units.
• Coordinate transport and agile bed turnover with transport and inpatient units.
• Monitor capacity, coordinate surge responses, and participate in staffing discussions.
• Participate in committees and contribute to process improvements.
