Job summary

SMS group Inc in Osceola, Arkansas is seeking a Bearing Maintenance technician to perform daily maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of chocks, bearings, and lubrication components to keep equipment running safely.

The right candidate will operate chock washers, cranes, read prints and tolerances, and maintain inspection records; willingness to work shifts and be on call.

Qualifications

• Daily maintenance and troubleshooting of chocks, bearings, and lubrication components.
• Read blueprints and interpret tolerances.
• Operate chock washer and chock flipper.
• Use micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges & PI tape.
• Communicate with vendors for parts.
• Maintain housekeeping in area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of chocks, bearings, and lubrication components to ensure safe operation.
• Operate chock washer and crane equipment as needed to service machinery.
• Read prints and correctly interpret tolerances for maintenance tasks.
• Record maintenance activities in RMS and complete associated paperwork.
• Coordinate with vendors to obtain replacement parts and ensure timely repairs.
• Train new technicians on procedures and safety practices.

Bearing Maintenance performs daily maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and relocation of chocks, bearings, and lubrication components to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation

The right candidate will

• Ability to operate a chock washer
• Ability to run jib and overhead cranes
• Ability to use micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, and PI tape
• Ability to operate chock flipper
• Ability to identify the different type of chocks and locations
• Ability to understand the chock ID system
• Understand the build-up of the different chocks to corresponding rolls
• Maintain housekeeping in Area Of Responsibility(A.O.R)
• Willingness to work shifts or be called out for repairs
• Ability to read prints and interpret the correct tolerances to be set
• Ability to fill out inspection paperwork or computer entry into RMS
• Ability to understand and repair different types of lubrication systems(REBS, Morgoil)
• Ability to communicate with vendors for replacement parts
• Ability to create/manage a chock (PM) preventive maintenance program with specific tasks needed to keep the machinery operational.
• Ability to train new technicians
