Job summary

SMS group is seeking a Mechanical Repair and Assembly Technician to repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial production equipment. The role involves using cranes and forklifts to move heavy equipment safely and performing diagnostics to ensure reliable operation.

You will inspect, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test machinery, reading blueprints and manuals to guide installation and operation. The position is on-site in Osceola, AR with standard factory shifts.

Qualifications

• Must repair or maintain operating condition of industrial production equipment.
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions using testing devices.
• Able to read blueprints or manuals to determine proper operation.
• Ability to cut and weld metal to repair or fabricate parts.

Responsibilities

• Repair or maintain industrial production/m processing machinery.
• Repair or replace broken components.
• Disassemble/reassemble machinery for repairs.
• Test operation of equipment to diagnose issues.
• Observe and test to diagnose malfunctions using testing devices.
• Clean, lubricate, or adjust machinery parts.
• Record parts used and order replacements as needed.
• Study manuals to ensure proper installation/operation.
• Program computer-controlled machinery where applicable.
• Demonstrate equipment functions to operators.

As an Mechanical Repair and Assembly Technician, you’ll repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial production equipment while using cranes and forklifts to safely move equipment and materials.

The right candidate will

• Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment
• Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment
• Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs
• Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices
• Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
• Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery
• Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear
• Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs
• Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems
• Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary
• Record repairs and maintenance performed
• Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment
• Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery
• Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators
