Job summary

Wilderness Safety Services LLC seeks experienced Wilderness Safety Guides to support remote field operations in Alaska and other project locations. The role requires self-sufficiency, professional judgment, and strong wildlife safety expertise for non-recreational field work.

As a Wilderness Safety Guide, you will manage wildlife-related risk, maintain readiness of firearms and safety gear, and coordinate with client teams to ensure safe field operations across challenging environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Significant remote wilderness work or guiding experience.
• Strong firearm safety practices and competency.
• Familiarity with pump-action shotguns and wildlife deterrence equipment.
• Ability to meet firearm proficiency standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide wilderness and wildlife safety oversight for client operations.
• Maintain continuous situational awareness in wildlife-prone environments.
• Identify and communicate evolving hazards to client personnel and leadership.
• Maintain firearm readiness and handle equipment safely at all times.
• Assist with wildlife monitoring, reporting, and safety logs.
• Coordinate with field crews, supervisors, and client representatives.
