Job summary

The University of California, San Francisco is seeking a LIS / Beaker Supervisor to lead Epic Beaker (CP/AP) teams, shaping strategy, design, implementation, and support across the laboratory information system. This role partners with Laboratory, Pathology, IT leadership, and vendors to translate clinical needs into scalable, compliant solutions that improve quality, workflow, and patient safety.

The supervisor will manage Beaker analysts, drive governance, performance, and workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least three years in a supervisory/management role.
• Certification: Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP).
• Advanced knowledge of clinical applications software development.
• Advanced knowledge of Clinical Communications hardware and software.
• Available for 7 x 24 application support.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a technical team and manage complex workflows.
• Strong knowledge of clinical applications operations, policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with problem-solving ability.
• Advanced interpersonal and collaboration skills with IT, clinicians, customers, staff, and vendors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear instructions and updates.

Responsibilities

• 30 - Supervises and coordinates daily operations and activities of clinical applications team. Evaluates quality and productivity for optimal user experience and functionality.
• 20 - Selects, develops and evaluates staff; provides input on salary actions, terminations, performance ratings, and personnel matters.
• 25 - Provides strategic guidance on implementation of clinical applications methods, systems, processes, with goals and budgets.
• 25 - Oversees end-user support, including training, user aids, troubleshooting, and coordinating external service and support.
