Job summary

Boyne Resorts is seeking a Shop Technician to tune and mount ski and snowboard bindings, greet customers, and assist with equipment selection.

You will ensure proper adjustments, educate customers on safety, and maintain equipment in the shop and rental stock while assisting with paperwork and store operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
• 2 years of ski/snowboard tuning and binding mounting/adjusting experience.
• Interest in a customer service role with customer interaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work well in a team, and be detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers entering the ski shop and share information on equipment and supplies.
• Assist customers with equipment and fitting hardware, and explain use and care.
• Help customers select items and ensure proper adjustments.
• Educate customers about safety for skiing and snowboarding activities.
• Tune, repair, and store equipment per vendor/manufacturer instructions.
• Confirm item functions and answer additional questions.
• Respond positively to customer issues and resolve them promptly.
• Complete required rental/sale documentation and ensure receipts are correct.
• Oversee repair, cleaning and maintenance of equipment in use or rental stock.
• Ensure the shop operates smoothly and report maintenance needs.
• Other tasks may be assigned.

Overview

As a Shop Technician you are responsible for tuning and mounting ski and snowboard bindings, interacting with customers and other assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greeting customers as they enter the ski shop, and provide them with information on available skiing and snowboarding equipment and supplies
• Assisting customers with equipment and fitting hardware, ensuring they’re made aware of the use and care of each item
• Providing customers with support in selecting the appropriate items, and ensuring they’re properly adjusted
• Educating customers about safety precautions required during skiing and snowboarding activities
• Tuning, repairing, and storing equipment and supplies according to vendor or manufacturers’ instructions
• Confirming that the function of each item communicated to the customer and provide answers to any additional queries
• Responding to customers in a positive manner, especially when they are relating a problem or issues and attempt to resolve it on immediate basis
• Completing required documentation for each rental and sale, ensuring that receipts and change are in order
• Overseeing the repair, cleaning and maintenance of rented/new/used equipment, both in a preventative and regular capacity
• Making sure the service shop is operating properly and that any need for maintenance communicated to the supervisor
• Other tasks may be assigned
