Job summary

Sugarloaf Mountain Corporation is seeking a Shop Technician to tune and mount ski and snowboard bindings and greet customers as they enter the shop. You will provide information on available equipment, help with fitting hardware, and ensure items are adjusted correctly for each customer.

You will tune, repair, and store gear per vendor instructions, confirm item function with customers, complete rental and sale paperwork, and help maintain the service area.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
• 2 years of ski/snowboard tuning and binding mounting/adjusting experience.
• Customer service oriented with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide information on equipment and supplies.

Overview

As a Shop Technician you are responsible for tuning and mounting ski and snowboard bindings, interacting with customers and other assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

The Shop Technician's typical job functions include:

• Greeting customers as they enter the ski shop, and provide them with information on available skiing and snowboarding equipment and supplies
• Assisting customers with equipment and fitting hardware, ensuring they’re made aware of the use and care of each item
• Providing customers with support in selecting theappropriate items, and ensuring they’re properly adjusted
• Educating customers about safety precautions required during skiing and snowboarding activities
• Tuning, repairing, and storing equipment and supplies according to vendor or manufacturers’ instructions
• Confirming that the function of each item communicated to the customer and provide answers to any additional queries
• Responding to customers in a positive manner, especially when they are relating a problem or issues and attempt to resolve it on immediate basis
• Completing required documentation for each rental and sale, ensuring that receipts and change are in order
• Overseeing the repair, cleaning and maintenance of rented/new/used equipment, both in a preventative and regular capacity
• Making sure the service shop is operating properly and that any need for maintenance communicated to the supervisor
• Other tasks may be assigned
