Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a BTU Specialist for a long-term substitute position starting 9/8/26 and ending 12/7/26. The role supports students with disabilities in the ABA Strand, working with OSS and school teams to deliver targeted services.

Responsibilities include case management, collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and providing professional development to colleagues, all while aligning with IEPs and Service Plans. Per diem rate applies; OSS oversight provided.

Qualifications

• BCBA certification required and licensed to practice in MA.
• Moderate or Severe Disabilities license from MA required.
• Experience delivering support services to students with disabilities.
• Ability to meet the BPS Standards of Effective Practice.
• Preferred: SEI endorsement and/or ESL license.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in special education or related field.
• Experience in Boston Public Schools and urban public schools.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated support services for students in the ABA Strand and other at-risk students.
• Deliver services to individual students, small groups, and classrooms per IEPs/Service Plans.
• Collaborate with principals, HSS teachers, coordinators, and OSS staff.
• Serve as case manager and liaison with schools, district, and community partners.
• Participate in Service Teams and Evaluation Teams.
• Provide consultation and professional development to colleagues.

Education

Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Moderate or Severe Disabilities License - MA

Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field

Experience in Boston Public Schools

Experience in urban public schools

SEI Endorsement and/or ESL teaching license
