Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a BTU Specialist for a long-term substitute assignment in the ABA strand to support students with disabilities. The position runs from 10/05/2026 to 05/05/2027 and begins at per diem pay, with responsibilities defined collaboratively by school leaders and the Office of Specialized Services.

The role requires BCBA certification, MA Moderate/Severe Disabilities license, and experience delivering services to students with disabilities, along with a commitment to BPS

Qualifications

• Board certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is required.
• Massachusetts Moderate or Severe Disabilities license required.
• Experience delivering support services to students with disabilities.
• Ability to meet the BPS Standards of Effective Practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide specific support services for students in the ABA Strand and other at‑risk students.
• Support individual students, small groups, and class groups per IEPs or Service Team Action Plans.
• Collaborate with Principals, HSS Teachers, Special Education Coordinators, and OSS staff.
• Provide case management and liaison with other schools, district, and community providers.
• Participate as members of Service Teams and Evaluation Teams.
• Provide consultation and professional development to colleagues.
