Job summary

Aiven is expanding its physical presence in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Bay Area Marketing Lead will own strategy and execution across multiple workstreams—community meetups, ecosystem networks, brand presence, and conference sponsorships—while collaborating with sales, PR, and PR/comms teams.

We’re seeking a senior, autonomous operator with strong AI/cloud/data fluency, a proactive mindset, and the ability to navigate a crowded market. This is an in-person role with hybrid benefits.

Qualifications

• Based in and with experience in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Strong technical fluency in AI, cloud or data infrastructure to converse with engineers.
• Senior-level autonomy: sole on-the-ground owner of multiple workstreams.
• Resourceful, proactive and able to navigate blockers without direction.

Responsibilities

• Own and run Bay Area community meetup program (monthly, scaling to twice monthly).
• Collaborate with local sales to build speaker and ecosystem networks.
• Set strategy for Bay Area brand presence, including influencer and press engagement.
• Build relationships with VC, accelerator and founder communities.
• Support flagship conference presence and sponsorship logistics with PR/Comms.
• Work with PR and Comms to amplify Aiven's voice in the region.
• Track program health: RSVP-to-attendance, pipeline and press mentions.
