Job summary

Hadrian in Los Angeles is seeking a Battery Pack Engineering Lead to drive a hands‑on technical team from concept to production on high‑reliability power systems for aerospace/defense applications. You will own pack architecture, the assembly process, safety, and cross‑functional development.

Lead a small team of engineers, define processes, and ensure cost, yield, and schedule targets while interfacing with mechanical, electrical, thermal, and quality groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field relevant to battery systems.
• 7+ years in battery pack/energy-storage engineering with hands-on experience.
• Experience leading a small team and autonomous work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the pilot battery pack assembly line end‑to‑end, from architecture through production readiness.
• Define the assembly process including cell intake, module/build sequence, joining, thermal management, and enclosure.
• Develop fixturing, tooling, and work instructions for the pilot line aiming at eventual automation.
• Own battery safety including thermal runaway mitigation and compliance with standards (UN 38.3, UL/IEC).
• Establish test, formation, and characterization processes; define acceptance criteria.
• Lead and grow a small team, interfacing across design, manufacturing, automation, supply chain, and QA.
