Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, California seeks a Lead of Avionics Battery Test Engineering to build and lead the team responsible for all HV battery testing across pack and cell levels. You will define the test strategy, build lab infrastructure, and hire and develop engineers while ensuring rapid, high-quality feedback to design teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required and relevant.
• Extensive experience in battery testing, validation, or energetics with hands-on execution.
• Strong understanding of battery physics, safety behavior, failure modes and HV system fundamentals.
• Experience defining and executing performance, durability, abuse, and destructive test programs.
• Hands-on experience with battery test equipment, cyclers, chambers, DAQ systems, and instrumentation hardware.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV battery testing program from ground up, including strategy and lab infrastructure.
• Oversee HV battery bring-up, pack- and cell-level testing, and data workflows for rapid feedback.
• Hire, develop, and manage test engineers; foster cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensure safety standards and robust test procedures across testing operations.
