Job summary

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. is seeking a passionate Controls Engineer for the Battery group in Liberty, NC. You will set up systems for data analytics, verify manufacturing data collection, and train NAMC team members on the systems.

This role reports to the Engineering Manager for Battery. Responsibilities include implementing MES and network systems, configuring PLCs, and developing visualizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent plus 5+ years in manufacturing.
• Experience with manufacturing network systems validation, installation and launch.
• PLC programming and debugging abilities with Mitsubishi hardware.
• Experience with OPC-UA, SQL/Oracle databases and SCADA data systems.
• Familiarity with Ignition or other visualization tools (HMI/Andon).
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

• Set up and verify data analytics systems for battery manufacturing.
• Configure PLCs and network connectivity for MES and OPC-UA.
• Develop visualizations for line status and equipment health.
• Maintain servers and network equipment; support installations.
• Collaborate across functions and sites to meet project goals.
• Support safety culture and participate in mentorship programs.
