Job summary

Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC) is seeking a Battery Production Engineer, BEV, to support battery manufacturing by budgeting, delivering engineering solutions to improve KPIs, and managing process changes. You will collaborate with production, maintenance, quality and other departments under the Engineering Manager.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, data-driven problem solving, and hands-on collaboration on the shop floor with diverse equipment and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent years of experience.
• Manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, quality, and/or project management experience.
• Demonstrate problem-solving in a fast paced, high-speed manufacturing environment while collaborating with support groups.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD 2D/3D.
• Experience leading cross-functional groups toward safety, quality, productivity and/or cost savings.
• Experience with project management including scope, schedules, vendors, and status updates.
• Operates on the shop floor with knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLCs and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional team to complete trials and build relationships.
• Support battery trials, planning, and implementation.
• Learn battery process and increase equipment knowledge.
• Install auxiliary equipment to support trials and mass production.
• Drive projects for building readiness, equipment installation and production readiness.
• Track and visualize data for operation rate, yield and scrap to improve KPIs.
• Analyze machine data for problem solving and root cause analysis.
