Job summary

Irby Construction Company is seeking a Superintendent for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will supervise field crews, coordinate civil, structural, electrical, and controls work, and ensure safe, high-quality execution from mobilization through energization and turnover.

The role requires at least six years in construction with two years in supervision, OSHA/NFPA training, and strong communication to align with project goals and schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) years of relevant construction/craft experience; at least two (2) years in a field supervisory role.
• Knowledge of BESS construction processes: civil, structural, electrical, controls, commissioning.
• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, NFPA 70E training or obtainable within 90 days; certification as applicable.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews and supervise field construction across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and controls.
• Assign foremen and craft personnel based on project priorities and the approved construction plan.
• Visit active work areas to monitor safety, quality, production, and schedule compliance.
• Maintain daily field reports, time sheets, job briefings, records, and equipment usage.
• Lead or participate in weekly foreman meetings and required Owner/project meetings.
• Coordinate subcontractors and owners to ensure continuous workflow and alignment with project plans.
