Job summary

Neath Port Talbot Council is seeking a Basic Skills Training Tutor to deliver essential literacy, numeracy and employability skills to post-16 learners in the community. The role focuses on supporting those in greatest need and aligns with Welsh Government priorities, with flexible, hybrid working options.

You will develop and deliver training programmes, assess learner progress, prepare schemes of work and ensure documentation is completed within required timescales, while promoting continuous

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Basic Skills delivery programme.
• Deliver Basic Skills courses to learners to develop life skills and into employment/further education.
• Provide guidance and support to learners to help them reach their full potential.
• Collaborate with the core team to plan assessments, progression and opportunities for employability or further education.
• Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments and accreditation within the required timeframe.
• Undertake teaching sessions with learners in line with the programme and promote development of the programme.

Job description

We are currently seeking 4 individuals to join our team as a Basic Skills Training Tutor. Full and Part-time hours available. Adult Learning in the Community deliver a range of learning activities for post 16-year-olds in Neath Port Talbot. Our main aim is to support and help those in greatest need and focuses on the needs of the communities. We provide a curriculum that is in line with Welsh Government priorities; Essential Skills - literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, Employability Skills and Engagement activities - to support Health and Wellbeing As a Basic Skills Training Tutor, you will; Develop and provide effective delivery of the Basic Skills delivery programme. Deliver Basic Skills courses to give opportunity and support learners with life skills and into employment/further education. Ensure that learners undertaking training are given appropriate support and guidance in order to achieve their full potential. Work collaboratively with the core team to ensure assessments with learners are completed to identify their needs in relation to participation, progression and further education and/or employment opportunities Provide necessary documents for management including lesson plans, schemes of work, assessments and accreditation are completed in the required timeframe. Undertake teaching sessions with learners in line with the programme. To promote continuous development and improvement of the programme
