Job summary

West Techs Chill Water Specialist in Texas is seeking a Building Automation System (BAS) Project Manager to lead commercial automation projects from pre-bid through closeout. You will direct multiple projects, controlling costs, schedules, procurement, and field oversight.

This role collaborates with department managers, account teams, field staff, vendors, and customers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards while building strong relationships for future work

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing commercial BAS/construction projects.
• Proven ability to negotiate change orders and present projects to customers.
• Strong problem-solving for multi-discipline projects.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to interpret contract documents, plans and specs, schematics and isometrics.
• Proficiency with MS Office, including intermediate Excel.
• Understanding of fixed-price, cost-plus, and unit-rate pricing models.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction for assigned BAS projects.
• Conduct pre-bid and planning meetings to clarify terms, scope, schedule, and constraints.
• Document planning meetings and track action items to completion.
• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules.
• Monitor manpower plans to align with schedules.
• Procure equipment and manage subcontract and buyouts.
• Track job costs and forecast final performance.
• Maintain billing schedules and ensure timely invoicing.
• Coordinate production activities with department manager.
• Visit job sites regularly to inspect progress and resolve issues.
• Investigate risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Manage scope changes with proper documentation and approvals.
• Conduct closeout and end-of-job meetings.
