Job summary

Brooks Building Solutions in Sunrise, FL is seeking an Estimator for our Building Automation System (BAS) team. You will collaborate with sales and project teams to prepare cost estimates and proposals for commercial and industrial projects.

The role requires reviewing drawings, evaluating system requirements, and producing detailed bids, with travel for training in Jacksonville, FL as needed. Competitive compensation and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, HVAC, BAS, or related field.
• Experience in estimating, project coordination, engineering support, or field operations in commercial/industrial settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to develop accurate estimates.
• Ability to review construction drawings, specs, and technical docs.
• Familiarity with commercial HVAC systems, BAS controls, sensors and networks.
• Strong communication across sales, project managers, clients, and vendors.
• Proficiency with Excel; estimating software experience a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering/Construction Management preferred; relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the sales team in developing estimates and bids for BAS projects.
• Assist in creating detailed bid packages with pricing, scope, exclusions, and VE options.
• Review blueprints and specs to assess project needs and costs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities to improve project cost-efficiency.
• Build relationships with vendors and help negotiate pricing within budget.
• Utilize software tools to streamline estimating for accuracy and timeliness.
• Attend meetings to communicate project details and client needs.
• Stay updated on BAS technologies through training and resources.
