Job summary

Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time Controls Technician III in Tampa, FL. You will install, program, and service commercial building digital control systems, collaborating with HVAC technicians and regional trainers to ensure optimal performance.

You will develop troubleshooting skills, work with Daikin and third-party controls, and mentor less experienced technicians while advancing projects from installation to retrofit. OSHA safety and certifications are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support as required.
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
• Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers.
• Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming.
• Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians.
• Train and mentor less experienced technicians.
• Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects.
• Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner.
• Interact and train customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call and explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning.
