Job summary

Powers is hiring a Controls Specialist- Building Automation System (BAS) Service to develop and maintain temperature control systems for HVAC across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.

The role is primarily field based with occasional travel to branches in the area; responsibilities include verifying operation, repairing control systems, and training customers on BAS operations. Safety sensitive position requiring background checks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical training.
• 2+ years’ experience BAS.
• Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent leadership and communication (written and oral).
• Self-sufficient and self-motivated, professional demeanor.
• Strong understanding of controls systems and how HVAC works in commercial buildings.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, controls drawings.
• Able to carry and move equipment up to 75 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Verify proper operation of building controls.
• Identify and repair control system failures.
• Interface with Service Manager and subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities professionally.
• Complete daily reports for customers and management.
• Work with customers to achieve their goals for their site.
• Provide documentation of field changes.
• Communicate with customers on arrival and before leaving the site.
• Promote the sale of additional work.
• Manage assigned work to meet standards.
• Provide training to customers on BAS operations.
